Instructions for Blocks 1 through 13 are now available.
Introducing our newest challenge, the Quiltmakers Block of the Month! This challenge features 13 blocks over 6 months (in case you want to set your blocks on point) and is a study in color value and its importance in creating a successful quilt! At each meeting, we will be revealing two blocks, with the last three being revealed at the March meeting. For instructions, patterns, and fabric requirements, head on over to the Challenge page.
NEW on the Challenge page - See two sample layouts along with fabric requirements for each setting. These are just two of many possibilities - be creative!
The raffle quilt for Quilt Plano 2020 will be made up of red and white blocks constructed by members of the guild. All blocks must be made from the fabric in the packets that were handed out at the January guild meeting. If you have the packet but have misplaced the instructions, you may download another copy here. Blocks are due back no later than the April guild meeting.
The guild has several open small groups that welcome new members. These include Art Quilters of Plano (monthly) and Dallas Games Marathon group (3-day day retreats). For more information, see the Small Groups page.
Hunters Glen Baptist Church collects food items for the Lovepacs program to feed hungry children. For a list of suggested items to donate, and more information about Lovepacs, see the Community Service page.
Monthly meetings of the Quilters Guild of Plano include a short business discussion, announcements of future events, special projects, show and tell, and various entertaining activities with door prize drawings.
Other QGP activities include an annual donation quilt, mini-quilt silent auction and Quilt Show in August, workshops from local and national speakers, retreats, quilting small groups and various community services activities.
Join us at a guild meeting, and our membership team will have a membership form for you to fill out. Or, download the Membership Form now and fill it out, then bring it to the guild meeting with check or cash for dues, or mail with a check to the address on the form.
